On June 17, 2023, after 168 hours of continuous full-load trial operation, the waste heat power generation project unit of Zhejiang Wantai Special Steel Co., Ltd. was running stably and the technical data indicators were good, marking the official commissioning of Wantai's first independent power generation project.Zhejiang Wantai Special Steel waste heat power generation project is a key green transformation and transformation project in Zhejiang Province on the development and operation of low-carbon environmental protection, green power energy saving and other elements. It is also an important measure for Wantai to strengthen energy recycling and practice green sustainable development.Since the landing of the project, it has received great attention from leaders at all levels such as provinces, cities, counties, etc., and has visited the project site many times to investigate the relevant situation of the project construction on the spot, and promote the early commissioning and early effectiveness of the project.

The waste heat power generation project of Zhejiang Wantai Special Steel Co., Ltd. started construction in 2022. It took 12 months from civil construction to operation, with a total investment of more than 50 million yuan. The installed capacity of the project is 4.5 megawatts. The overall completion and acceptance was completed in May 2023.

The working principle of waste heat power generation is based on the principle of thermodynamics. In the process of heating and smelting scrap steel into molten iron, the excess heat energy is converted into electrical energy to achieve energy conversion.Waste heat power generation can help enterprises achieve energy conservation and emission reduction, and reduce atmospheric environmental pollution. Through the use of waste heat generated by exhaust gas and waste liquid to generate electricity, not only can the previously wasted energy be reused, but also the electricity consumption pressure of the enterprise can be reduced.   At present, during the commissioning period after full production, when the smoke temperature conditions are met, the instantaneous power generation capacity of waste heat power generation can reach up to 5300kw/h, and it can be maintained steadily at more than 4200kw/h. The daily power generation capacity can reach up to 100,000 degrees, which can reduce carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide and other exhaust emissions by 20,000 tons per year. It not only brings considerable economic benefits to enterprises, but also realizes the corporate social responsibility of low-carbon recycling, energy conservation and emission reduction, reduces the electricity consumption pressure of society and enterprises, alleviates the power generation problems faced by high temperatures in summer, and makes a contribution to green energy.
